About to start a min max campaign with only two players which is totally fine, I already rolled up some sick npcs. I'm having a problem with the barbarian though.
Dagons father was a pit fight in a band of gypsies and she went the same route but it's mostly unarmed combat. Tavern brawler doesn't fit the bill at all, and while homebrew paths look great (saw one were you could use another humanoid as an improvised weapon) none of them stack up with the tankiness I want with totem of the bear. Any ideas?

First, I love the idea of a punchy barbarian. Second, what level are you playing the characters at to start? You could take the totem Barbarian path, but create your own totem that could be taken after the initial one with the bear.

They are starting at level with one extra feat at level one. And of course they both chose squishy nukes. I thought of that but for some reason that seems a bit cheaty for some reason. Had an idea though, how about a monk version of martial adept (if that's a thing I'm sorry I didn't know.)
Call it "Self taught pugilist". Us ki points but have moves like suplexe and ground n pound. 1d4 unarmed damage progressing as the the monk class does using strength or dexterity modifiers. Eh? Eeehhhh?

I absolutely love that concept. I had made one before, but that was 3.5 days and I could never find the template I used for it. I also built a brawler in Pathfinder that was tons of fun. I think it would work great to reflavor a monk that way.
