I haven't done a lot of homebrew so I'm coming to the masters for help. My players are about to be consumed by a Kraken. How would you populate the Kraken's anatomy to create a 'dungeon', and what creatures would you put in it?

Definitely some oozes in the stomach, to aid digestion. Maybe even a Black Pudding if/when they reach the ink sac. You could include some other sailors who have been eaten, and depending on who/what they are, they could be allies or enemies. Some orc pirates would probably just attack. Starving humans who have been in there for way too long might be half-insane and try to eat the party. Some recently swallowed folks are probably happy to work together. And what about some gut parasites? You could reskin a dire shark or a creature with a blood drain mechanic and have it be some sort of giant tapeworm/leech thing that takes a little bit of whatever the kraken eats.
If you want to go a little nuts with it, maybe there's a village inside the kraken that has managed to eke out a stable existence by scavenging the bits of dead whales and stuff that float by on the stomach acid. They build their huts using the wood and ropes of shipwrecks.

They build their huts using the wood and ropes of shipwrecks. I love the idea of oozes in the stomach and black pudding for the ink sack. I've been talking to some other DMs and eventually I settled on: There is a cult of Sahuagin in there who call the Kraken 'The Host' and they live off what the Kraken consumes/what they can farm from inside it. There is also what at first appears to be a statue of a Kraken, but is actually a Gnomish submarine research vessel which got swallowed and now the Sahuagin cult think it's a statue of their living god, so the Gnomes are too scared to leave but need the PCs help to fix the sub so they can escape (with the PCs inside). The Sahuagin have hollowed out sections on the cuttlefish style flotation device of the Kraken which is where they have their enclave, and store all flotsam which is where the PCs need to get the parts to fix the Gnomish sub. They will have to either convince the Sahuagin to release the statue of their god, sneak it out, or whatever crazy plan they come up with to get the sub out of the Kraken and into the water. If they piss off the Sahuagin, they'll get thrown into the stomach to 'become one with The Host'. If they come up with another plan to escape the Kraken, I'll run with it of course, but that's the vague path I'll put out for them.
