Come in, rest yer weary feet, 'n' share wi' me a stoory.
Suppose I should start out with saying hello to my fellow Blockheads! I have finally caught up with the DMs Block after a little over a month of listening and am about to begin the second go through. This time more attentive, taking notes, and taking all the information in. As my name suggests, I am Monty (or Montague if you want to be formal), I hail from St. Andrews, Scotland, but now reside in the United States. I have a two decade history with tabletop games starting back in the days of AD&D 2E. I have since then played various other games such as Gamma World, Mutant Chronicles, Champions RPG, Ars Magica, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk 2020, Savage Worlds, Pathfinder, Star Wars D20, Warcraft RPG, Call of Cthulhu, The Dresden Files, World of Darkness (Mage, Werewolf, and Vampire), Mutants and Mastermind, Warhammer RPG (attempted at least), Legend of the Five Rings, Runequest, Dragon Age, and Abberant.
Whew, that was a mouthful. Ultimately though, I keep coming back to the most beloved tabletop of all time. Dungeons and Dragons. I missed out on 4E due to its release as I started uni. Wanting to get back into tabletops, I wanted to find a group for Pathfinder. That was when a friend recommended trying out 5E due to its flexibility, focus on storytelling, and easiness for brand new players to the tabletop world. So as of last March, I became a DM for the first time. After a few toxic players causing problems we ended the campaign early and are taking a month off to let me add finishing touches to my homebrew setting! All throughout my first cycle through the DMs Block I have gained so my knowledge to help me as a DM provide a better experience not only for my players, but myself as well. Thank you to all the amazing hosts and guests that have joined in and I cannot wait to interact more with the community.
