The guys over at The Tome Show (my second favorite pod) have done a Roll20 game utilizing the 5E Mass Combat rules and put the video up on YouTube. youtu.be/pTJNjd-IhIoI haven't watched it yet, but am gonna give it a look today I hope. Anyone here messed with mass combat in 5E yet?

Closest I came to mass combat was about 30 goblins vs. the party + 10 guards. I just did opposed d20's between groups of 5 goblins/guards, narrated stuff in the background, and ran combat as normal with the goblins the PCs fought.
I don't anticipate ever running a real mass combat ala Unearthed Arcana, but if it ever comes up, I'll probably post it in Stories of Awesomeness!

I'm thinking of doing that as my Roll20 one-off game. Already have the map ready to go. Just have to populate it with forces and objectives. The three bridges are one set of objectives. ETA: Used the token for Orc foot soldiers and can't help but think of the DMB. "Yeeeeeeeah! Why can't we have some meat?!" LOL

Nice, I'd love to give that a try.
I love Iserith's work, but wasn't really keen on the Mario scenario.

My wife and I invented a mechanic (a critical feature of which was the use of LEGO) for army-scale combat for 3.5, but it hasn't come up for us yet in 5e. I'm hoping it will at some point. It sounds like fun. =)
