Place: 2. Dodge Village, in the trees of Dodger’s Nest
Event: 8. Torrential Rain, the seasonal monsoon
Dodger’s Nest receives seasonal monsoons. This floods the island for 2 months every year making travel across the islands impossible by any means other than boat and tree top travel by the Tabaxi who live in the tropical heights of the forest. Canals and the underground cave system become flooded. The flooding of underground caves both prevents rampant growth of the Bullywug population and refills the underground lakes with the fresh water which they live in. The Tabaxi Dodgers and local Lizard folk rely on these the rest of the year for fresh water. The yearly flooding restricts Helmfirth’s farms while also enriching the crops. During the two months before the monsoon season Dodger’s Nest has noticeably more land and intricate system of underground caves, the Helmfirth pass opens up at low tide, and trade between Helmfirth and Mainlanders comes in full force. The Helmfirth humans frequently try to plunder the forest of exotic fruits and timber. Due to the Bullywug and Helmfirth threats the Tabaxi of Dodge village and the local Lizard folk have an uneasy alliance. The alliance is mostly made uneasy because these two cultures are so utterly different they do not understand each other at all.
