The other day I had an idea for a new kind of D&D blog that I haven't seen before (and I did a quick search before posting this): a D&D themed travel blog.
Basically, once I have more than moths in my bank account, if go globetrotting and take pictures of different places and provide ideas or stat blocks inspired by those places.
Gimme your thoughts on this ideas, this a good idea?

I think it is a fantastic idea. I had a similar one except with gathering stories and folk tales from places. But I think one geared toward the visual would be much more viable. I would naturally lend myself to make posts that are "in character". IE being an actually adventurer and weaving stories in each post about what you saw and what you did.
But however it is done, getting inspiring pictures from different locales seems like a fantastic idea. There is always need of more inspiration on the internet. Especially ones that expose us to ideas and sights we never have or are able to see.

I love this Idea. I've kind of thought about doing some writing as a fantasy travel writer kind of in the vain of Lonely Planet or Time Out. Which isn't that much of a stretch from some of the stuff WoC already puts out in stuff like Volo's. But the blog Idea is fantastic. It'd be an interesting way to release cohesive setting materials to. You know, often Time Out sources local writers for their travel guides. Why not start close to home? I don't know where you live, but if there isn't any interesting historical architecture maybe there is some natural futures?

It's a fine idea - I do a good bit of traveling to Europe and can't help but jot down ideas and inspirations for my homebrew world plucked straight from my travels. Architecture, history of a person or group, a certain artifact or style of jewelry - it's all phenomenal fodder and if it's done in digestible pieces, would definitely be something I would check out periodically. Maybe during/after your travels you snap a photo(s) of a person/place/thing and post the RL history of it, then run a little DM-Nastics of your own about what it could be in a DND setting. ![]() It's a fine idea - I do a good bit of traveling to Europe and can't help but jot down ideas and inspirations for my homebrew world plucked straight from my travels. Just a quick example of something minor from my notes - I saw this on the side of a chapel in Valencia, Spain A temple to a god of destruction was built from the rubble of previously destroyed buildings and temples in the area. Haphazardly assembled from chunks of columns, recognizable stature remnants etc.
