Hello to everyone on the DMB Forum!
My name is DM Savage and I'm very excited to start participating in DMNastics!
I've only been DMing and playing 5e for about 4 years, but I have always loved DnD since I was 8 but never had anytime or the friends to play it growing up.
I've been working on a campaign for about 8 months now and the DMs block has helped immensely and I hope that these forums will get the creative juices flowing even more.
If I had to make a top 10 list like they do on the podcast, then this would be my number one entry:
The Seafood Necromancer:
Your party comes to a small town, land locked up in the hills. Its mostly a farming village and a stop over for travelers. But on this day, there is a lineup out of one of the buildings. The name says "Skrutch's Crab Shack" and you can hear quite the hubbub going on from within. As you approach you see two guards ruffing up a vagabond. They declare him crazy and superstitious and tell him to get lost. If you ask the vagabond why the crab shack is so popular, he berates you with a conspiracy about how this inn just started serving crab out of no where. One day a man arrived, bought the inn, and the crabs just started to appear, and the crabs keep on coming. No deliveries either. He has tried to investigate, but there are guards guarding the kitchen doors.
If the players go into the Crab Shack, they get served the tastiest crab they have ever tasted. Crab meat and legs are flying everywhere as everyone dives into the delicious meal. The server says you can be as messy as you want, just put all the empty shells back into the bucket (like at a regular crab shack). The players do notice, armed guards guarding the entrance to the kitchen though, and you do find it suspicious. If the players can sneak into the kitchen, they see a enormously fat wizard (Skrutch), pouring the bucks of empty crab shells out on a table in front of him, and summoning them back to life. He then puts the crabs into a container of water...where they wait to be eaten all over again!
Hope you all enjoyed that. I think it would be a funny quick story for your adventures if they have a bit of downtime in a small village.
