Obviously, I have to be the one to start this thread Love love love the episode! The Wendigo has so many aspects to it, and the fact that you can kind of pick and choose from them to customize it to individual campaign needs is really awesome. You guys had a lot of great ideas. One thing you only mentioned in passing (I don't think you touched on it after mentioning it in the Wendigo introduction) was that Wendigos are associated greed. It came up in a video game (on PC and consoles) I recently played called "Valley" and I thought it was a cool twist. Think about it - the corruption of one's greed and mistreatment/exploitation of others grows and grows until finally, one becomes so far gone that they crave nothing but the literal flesh of their fellow man and can never be satisfied. I imagine a banker or merchant on such a path for years, culminating an argument over money. The greed so profound that the thought of losing only a portion of his fortune is unbearable. The passion erupting from within leads to the murder of a business associate. The body lays dead on the floor, what to do... should I eat it? What choice do I have? A final act of total corruption and now you've got a Wendigo romping around some large City! You mentioned also in the description that Wendigos have ragged, bloody, remnants of lips - I read somewhere that it is because their need for flesh lead them to chew their own lips off... Unsure how canon that is, but it certainly fits the mold and ramps up the creepiness.

With a wendigo as the BBEG of my current campaign, this episode is wonderful, and I haven't even gotten ten minutes into the episode yet!

Their is so much lore with these guys. I love how of all the things that your PCs are in danger of being changed into this one has to be the most terrifying. Id even go for a Wererat before a Wendigo.

This was one of my favorite episodes to listen to in terms of the subject matter. I remember reading about the wendigo as a kid in Alvin Schwartz's books (think "Real Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark"). Truly terrifying stuff. Thanks for another great episode. Y'all have one of the best podcasts I've listened to. And for some fun Alvin Schwartz reading: mentalfloss.com/article/69886/14-terrifying-facts-about-scary-stories-tell-dark

Glad to see the creativity, however thought you might want to know we actually have Wendigo stats in Fiend Folio (3rd Ed) for your browsing pleasure (pg. 186-188).

It totally slipped passed us. Oh 3rd edition and your glorious plethora of books! I'm actually surprised at how low the CR/hp of that entry is. I was pleasantly surprised that they assigned it a level adjustment and gave a template to add to virtually any creature tiny to colossal, haha. Thanks for the info, and sad we missed it prior to recording.

With the wendigo campaign approaching its end, I found myself listening to this episode again. So much fun.
I have the last few sessions more or less planned out, though I won't go into detail yet just in case my players started browsing these forums without telling me (you know who you are).

I had some art commissioned a while pack - including a little scene featuring a Wendigo, just thought I'd share.
