I have to say, this one was one of my favorites (funny, it seems like each new one is my favorite). I am not much of a god/deity person, but choosing the type of pantheon in a world is much more up my alley. I enjoy adding entire theologies, theological arguments, and different religions. I enjoyed all the different ideas for new religions in this show. I am even more excited about putting a false religion in my world. Thanks for the great content!

I also really enjoyed this one, and thought that the false gods concept was really interesting. The trickster god of leftover prayers becomes the most powerful god in the world! Playing off of that you could even have the party be depowered gods trying to gain their seats of power once again. As far as establishing a pantheon I think it is also important to predetermine what types of things there should be a god for, and going from there. Life, Death, magic, etc all seem like great places to start, but how granular or broad remains up to DM preference. Great episode full of #MagicMark!

Holy crap, the Aztec Death Whistle!!
Loved the whole episode. It didn't get much time, but I especially liked the idea (around 31mins) about the party meeting a mysterious stranger around the same time the cleric's powers stop working.
Hope you're feeling better Chris!

I've known people who suffer from migraines, and it is no joke. My partner is a Craniosacral Therapist. She has had great success treating clients who suffer from migraines. If you can find a licensed Craniosacral Therapist in your area, I strongly recommend trying a few treatments. Many insurance providers will cover them now as they are often lumped in with massage therapy. Its not for everyone, and there is a lot of hippy-dippy nonsense surrounding Craniosacral Therapy. The practice involves gentle massage and bone manipulation intended to improve the rhythmic flow of cerebro-spinal fluid. I know that sounds nutty, but I have felt the results personally after a nasty head injury. My partner also has many returning clients that have been with her for years. Check it out, and if you get a treatment, let me know what you think. Craniosacral Therapy and Migraines

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely check into it. If it can help prevent and not just dull the pain as meds do I am down for it. Also I think I need to add a gentle massage and bone manipulation therapist into my DnD world. It doesn't sound nutty for our world...but it could be really nutty in a dnd world! Love this community! Thanks everyone!

Just finished this episode and really enjoyed it. I am currently working on working up a pantheon for my world and this helped out nicely. When the show was talking about how a god may act when they loose their abilities, I would suggest watching Deja Q from Star Trek the Next Generation. This is the episode where Q looses his godlike abilities.

This episode actually gave me a nice idea for explaining whats more or less happening to my world Divine powers failing, gods getting depowered / gods getting captured and siphoned for their powers. Also demigods. ( Still not done with the episode but got some good ideas ) Also we need some more #magickmark ! Edit: As im standing here in a rumoured to be haunted hotel, listening to the podcast when suddenly deathwhistle. thnx for giving me creepy vibes at work

Never really gave much thought to doing any other then using the forgotten realms pantheon until revisiting the episode for a 2nd listen. I was working on the yard when I listened to it the 1st time so I didn't get much out of it.
My world was created by 5 titans (based on the 5 colors and their domains from MtG) As their power began to dwindle they chose from the mortals those that best represented the domains and aspects of their power to rule when they were gone.
Originally I had intended to use the already created gods. I think now I'll tweet them and create some of my own.

Perhaps the titans had children who grew into gods with mortals worship? but some creatures still worship the titans, such as giants, elementals etc. this will make them like primordials in 4th points of light, or titans from greek mytholog & world of warcraft-azeroth there's like 4-5 MtG episodes, make sure you check them all out, strong theme-flavour running through them
