So if you've been living under a rock or simply haven't been on the DM-Nastics thread this week, there was talk of creating a conlang for the race created on the forum. Essentially a race of octopus people, the race's name is Y'ch A'wah and we already have a few words to use as a jumping off point. I highly recommend checking out this page if you are interested in creating your own languages for your homebrew settings. In any case here are the words that we currently have: Y'ch A'wah (pronounced Itch Ow-ah) Rengurar Y'wah T'k Itch'khk For the names of individuals we have: Mer'la So let's break down the sounds [Y'] produces an IT [A'W] produces an OW [CH] and [AH] both sound as they do in English However, the first half of the word Itch'khk is spelled the way that Y'ch is pronounced, meaning that when spoken it sounds differently than in English. For that reason, I am saying that produces a long-i as in die.

Yeah! Thank you, sorry I didn't get to do anything as of yet - I wasn't able to just sit down and do DMNastics. However, now I can!
Anyway, I'll add some grammar?
I always pondered on the idea where the verb agrees with all the nouns based on their case. I don't know if this has already been done, or if there's a language in the world already like that (I'm still new to the conlanging world - I've only been doing it for like six months or so). But I think it's a cool idea. I also like the idea where the written language actually came first for some reason (maybe because they evolved tentacles to write with before a beak or mouth to speak with?) Anyway, it would be an excuse for why all the letters are pronounced one way and there aren't any weird spellings of words. I also imagine there would be some sounds that we humans can't pronounce:
Iieh' maybe could be one sound that humans can't pronounce, for humans to converse with the race, they could pronounce it like an i and then the French r (like, the sound that children and DMs use when trying to sound like a lion - growling).
Finally, I like the idea of their writing system being like braille, but I don't think that it would be a good idea for this language since we already have a writing system in English writing. Also, then of course we can't type the words out.
I'll add some grammar in my next post.

So I think the grammar should have the following cases (in word order):
Verb (always the first word in the sentence) Predicate Nominative Ablative: everything else that the following cases don't follow, like in Latin In/On/By the side of Instrumental Dative Accusative Nominative Vocative
I think though, that everything should be known by the word order above, except for the ablative case, which would use declensions I think. Anyway, so let's say the verb to-be and the verb to-have are the same word and it's: "Iieh'a'w", and "I" is: "Y'ch". So I am an Y'ch A'wah would be:
Iieh'a'w Y'ch A'wah ych.
