Is anyone here an active player of Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited or Neverwinter?
I played DDO for few years, but fell out of it due to frustrations surrounding the expectations MMO players place on participation (in other words: I didn't have time to grind quests for 8 hours a day, and people gave me a hard time about it). I've never played Neverwinter, but I think I started an account at one point.
If anyone plays DDO, I may be interested in jumping back in for some casual play.

I dipped my toe ever so slightly into DDO, and have really thought about trying out Neverwinter. However. I am too deeply entrenched into WoW to ever really come back out, haha. I think that Neverwinter would be pretty cool given that it ties back into the print products that WotC are releasing.

The only MMO I have played is EVE Online. It is a beast and leaves very little time for real life. Haha

I don't play DDO, but now I wish I did. I do have LOTRonline, though. If you or anybody else has that. I should try DDO out...

I liked both games quite a lot, and played pretty hardcore for about a year each. Despite all their criticisms, I enjoyed all those wasted hours on DDO and Neverwinter! However, I haven't been able to stick with an MMO for more than a year, not since WoW circa 2007

Quit MMO's after I got my Corrupted Ashbringer and finished the AQ40 scarab lord quest line in WoW - however one of my friends worked on Neverwinter and told me to avoid it. wompwomp

I play Neverwinter. I have two characters, a human rogue named Davros Milner, and a Tiefling wizard named Kastor Darkborne. Both are level 64. I only play for free and I have been able to accomplish what I wanted without spending any cash. I don't have some of the really cool things that you can purchase, but I have had a lot of fun. I only play PvE and only do solo with a companion. It took a bit to realize that playing solo meant doing adventures a few levels below your own level in order to have a reasonable chance for survival and not have to pay to play. I play so infrequently, that I have never really got into the whole guild thing, though I do belong to one, but that might change with the stronghold campaign coming out. I also found that many of the other players that I did join to complete a quest just ran through the adventure to get to the BBEG and I am more interested in exploring my surroundings. I've come across a few interesting things doing it that way that I think some of these players miss. I love playing the player created adventures too. I have yet to play one that I did not like and always tip at the end. This is really my only chance to play D&D, since I DM all the time. I haven't had a chance to actually play in a P&P game since the mid to late 90's. I am also looking forward to Sword Coast Legends to come out. I have a bad feeling that that game will be the money suck for me...

I used to play MMOs an awful lot more than I do now. I haven't seen the Neverwinter MMO but I played DDO (and LotRO) off and on for years (more LotRO than DDO). I enjoyed both of them while I played them and I have especially fond memories of LotRO. When I was enlisted I knew a guy who'd kept in touch with his old D&D group through DDO. They met once a week and tackled one of the adventures as a way to keep DnDing even though they were spread over at least 2 continents.
These days I don't really have time for any MMOs. We were playing WoW back in January or so, and a year before that we'd tried FFXIV for a few months, but by and large it's just too much of a time sink and the communities aren't quite what they used to be (or if they are they're damnably difficult to locate).

Those other players had probably run that dungeon multiple times trying to get a single item and were already sick of the place!

That makes me smile, because I do the same thing as SteveV. In LotrO I create a character just to explore that race's starting point. In the end I have explored every nook, cranny, and glitch in the elves, dwarves, and men's starting points. And then I feel as if I can continue on with the story. I always seem to like where the Dwarves begin the best, as far as visuals go.

Elves and Dwarves living just a taxi ride away from one another and managing to not bollocks it up. =)

D&D: "Dwarven brothers, let us run this drunken elf out of these mines". MMO: "Good Afternoon, want to see my wares?" I play a few MMOs, but it still, in the end, they all feel less like a story and more of an attention grabber.

My first MMO was Ultima Online, and I think I have at least tried every Fantasy MMO that has come out since. WoW (1st year), Shadowbane, and Guild Wars 2 being the best so far. DDO was crap I thought, it had some interesting ideas, but I didn't like it. I do currently play Neverwinter though. It's pretty good game with a 4E backbone, and all the WotC content from the books in Forgotten Realms.

My first MMO was Ultima Online Ultima must be my favorite fantasy video game series. Ever. There is something about the insane difficulty of finding anything with the memorable NPCs that get this game the closest to a game of D&D. I am so much a nerd (geek, etc.) I ported Ultima V to my calculator... and it's pretty cool.
