A PC of mine, a Cleric of Kelemvor in the 3.5 Forgotten Realms setting and he researched a spell of his own which is posted below. It's essentially a divine version of prismatic spray, with some re-imagined effects more suited to existing cleric spells/abilities and specifically a cleric of Kelemvor.
In an upcoming campaign, I plan to customize a similar spell for each deity - maybe given as an option to use in the bonus domain slot for clerics of a given deity.
Just a little back story, I researched the spell not to prepare/cast it, but to use it in replacement of Prismatic Spray with regards to the "Prismatic Burst" magic weapon ability (page 40 of the Magic Item Compendium). Essentially, whenever the Cleric got a crit with the enchanted weapon, it would trigger the spell targeting the enemy hit. The weapon was a Heavy Flail, so with the Cleric's Improved Critical feat it made the threat range 17-20... It was a lot of fun
KELEMVOR'S JUDGMENT
Evocation [Light, Death]

Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10ft/level)

Spell Resistance: Yes
1 - 20 points divine damage (Ref half)
2 - 40 points light damage (Ref half; doubled vs. undead)
3 - 80 points fire damage (Ref half)
4 - Halt Undead or dazed 1d4 rounds (Will negates)
5 - Bestow Curse (Will negates; 50% chance to lose actions)
6 - Shadow Well (Will negates)
7 - Sent to Kelemvor's Judgment Hall (Will negates; death but affects all creatures)
8 - Roll twice, ignore further results of 8
