Spell: Roar of the Dragon

This homebrew spell I felt was not too overpowered for my homebrew setting as true dragons are extinct and Dragonborn are reclusive and hard to find.  Therefore the material component is difficult to find.  This spell is somewhat inspired by the Dragonslayers of Fairy Tail the anime.

The spell was inspired by my transmutation wizard who desires to become a true dragon.  So I he found a spell scroll of a homebrew 3rd level spell called "Roar of the Dragon" where the effect and damage type of the roar is determined by the color of dragon scale that is used as the material component so you would have to note the Dragonborn breath attacks from the PHB pg 34

Roar of the Dragon (3rd level)
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Depends on scale color either 30 ft line or 15 ft cone
Components: V, S, M (A dragon scale or dragonborn scale of any color that is consumed by the spell)
Duration: Instantaneous

You bite a dragonscale and lift your hands up to your mouth as if to yell. A spell circle in Draconic runes appears in front of your mouth and hands and a Dragons roar shoots out for 4d8 damage of the appropriate damage type for the scale color used against your spell save DC.  Depending on the scale color used, the save will be Con for cold and poison damage and Dex for all other damage types.

At higher levels: Add another 1d8 for each spell level above 3.
