Ok guys, for this weeks DM-Nastics we want to give you an awesome, and likely hilarious, opportunity to create the hosts of DMB and DM-Nastics into playable PC characters. DM Mitch DM Chris joatmoniac dm_mainprize all need to have the character creation process run on them! We want to make them as 5th level characters for 5e fully fleshed out and playable. So crack open those PHBs and get to it. Anything in the Unearthed Arcana article or other books from Wizards are free game as well. You can check here for info if you don't currently have the books. www.5esrd.com/ Also, anything from the friends of the DMB is good too (i.e. tribality.com worldbuilderblog.me/ http://www.saltinwoundssetting.com/ ) These DMB-PCs are also intended to exist/live in the world of Dayeimbe, so the previous DM-Nastics are game as well. We want you guys to select the stat array that should be used. Vote in the poll above and we can go from there. We want each of us to keep our first name the same as in real life, so Mitch, Chris, Neal, Phillip but want you to create a nickname, title, honorifics, family name, whatever you see fit. So what we need for each of us is Name: Ability Scores: Standard Array 15,14,13, 12, 10, 8 (place where you want) Race: Class: You can also start selecting the class based choices for a level 5 character. Background: both the mechanical solution, and just backstory in general is open. Ideals: Bonds: Flaws: Personality Traits: Skill Proficiencies: Starting Items: per the DMG its 500 gp plus 1d10 x 25 gp, one uncommon magic item, normal starting equipment, but as with msot everything these are just guidelines not rules. This will hopefully end with us having four characters very much ready to be used! Remember to have fun and create us as accurately or inaccurately as you see fit. Also, don't forget to give others a chance to get into the gym and try their hand at the weights before you do another set.

This should be interesting. Can we do podcast guests like Morgan Jenkins?

Sure, as long as they are OK with it, and I'm more than willing to ask whoever gets suggested to see if they are comfortable with the idea. Messaging Morgan now!

Both Morgan Jenkins and Rich Howard said they are down for having PCs generated for them in the world of Dayeimbe. If there others that people think of let me know. I have some hilarious info from Morgan on the matter and I think Rich Howard may make a case for what his skills should probably be, haha.

From Morgan: "Morgon the Majestic!
In certain bars across the land, you'll find him sitting, dice in hand. With gentle smile he'll draw you near, Then take from you what you hold dear.
But while he does so, stories told, Of dragons' fire & river's gold. Of cities burning in purple flame, And heroes who bear not one name. An ancient tale of things to come, So roll the dice, but he's already won." Also this. Haha! "A wandering storyteller/gambler who gambles not with money but with your fate. His game of choice is fives, but sometimes he'll mix & match. More myth than man, there are those who pretend to be him but are not. Some think he is a powerful wizard, to be able to prophesize so, or a god in disguise, but none really know for sure. He is short, bearded, & his laugh is that of a mad hyena. These days most think he's a story told to frighten people away from gambling." So there is all of that to think about, haha.

I have a hard time with this one. I've listened to every episode of DMB religiously but don't feel like I've gotten enough sense of Chris and Mitch personally to create in-world versions of them, except by relying on in-jokes (Mitch is obviously a food mage, for example.)
But looking at what Morgan sent suggests to me that seeing how Chris, Mitch, and the rest of you guys see YOURSELVES in a Dungeons and Dragons world actually might give me a better sense of you all personally. And it makes me wonder if we could have a DM-Nastics 52b, in which the various people on the forums actually submit a 5e version of ourselves for Dayeimbe as a "getting to know each other" exercise.

Yeah, I realize is hindsight how much harder this is than I thought it would be. I like your idea and will have a 52b up before too long, and work with the guys on our own characters that we can then post for people to check out.

I have immense trouble gauging their DX, ST, and CON based on what their voices sound like.

I have an interesting idea for this that I plan to run by the other three very soon, to see if they are ok with it.

Ok, so the other three have agreed to us making Level 5 characters for each other. So I will do one for DM Phil, he will do one for me, DM Chris will do one for DM Mitch, and DM Mitch will do one for DM Chris, and hopefully they will be hilarious and/or insightful.

What I really am vs who I'd like to be in a fantasy setting are two very different things. Some fantasy ideas: A bard of the college of sea singers who studies aquatic cultures, a sea elf spell-less ranger beastmaster who is fascinated with the surface world, a shamanic coastal druid, a water-element pacifist monk... Reality? Not sure I'm a 5th level anything. Lol.

Watch out! I did what I could making dm_mainprize in 5E. Still some extra stuff that could be put in i'm sure, but I think it's a solid start. Name: Phillip “The Courageous” Mainprize Ability Scores: STR 17 DEX 8 CON 15 INT 10 WIS 12 CHA 14 Race: Mountain Dwarf Class: Level 5 Battle Master Fighter Alignment: Chaotic Good Background: Guild Artisan – Guild Business: Carpenter, Constructor, Builder The brothers Mainprize created the guild of the Gauntlet and have been traveling throughout the world of Dayeimbe setting up obstacles for people to attempt to tackle. It is through their blood, sweat, and tears that the course is built and then covered in the blood, sweat and tears of those who attempt it. The Mainprize men have a place to stay in just about any town that they have built an obstacle course. The joy they have brought to many, and the amount of money that they have invested in the town when they buy materials to build the course, or employ the local wizard to help move things they need. Ideals: Generosity. My talents were given to me so that I could use them to benefit the world. Bonds: I owe my guild a great debt for forging me into the person I am today. Flaws: I’m horribly jealous of anyone who can outshine my handiwork. Everywhere I go, I’m surrounded by rivals. Personality Traits: I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick. Skill Proficiencies: Athletics, Insight, Persuasion, Survival Items: Dressed in full plate that has seen its share of battle, and has the scrapes and scratches to prove it. He carries with him Daender the Stormhammer. Those who have seen Phillip in combat know the weapon can be thrown great distances, and immediately after the attack, the weapon flies back to his hand. Rumor has it that when an enemy is struck in this way, that a small lightning bolt and thunder crack are produced. He also carries on him the tools of his trade, as you never know when something might need to be built.
