1. Episode 53 With Lou Anders. Super inspirational to hear about Lou's creative process. 2. Well...I think getting to sit down and talk "face-to-face" with joatmoniac for DM-Nastics was pretty cool. 3. I loved hearing @dm_Chris read from his character's journal. 4. A Vibrosword tainted by the dark side (an EotE game over on Gamersplane). 5. Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Duh. Ok, ok, that's predictable and boring. Fine; the fact is, I haven't seen many movies in 2015. So I'll do a book instead: The Traitor's Blade by Sebastien De Castello. 6. I've learned that my players have more faith in my GM abilities than I do. I'm always doubting what I'm doing, but they are consistantly happy with our sessions and campaigns. Its important to remember: we are often our own worst critics. 7. Star Wars Edge of the Empire from Fantasy Flight Games. Great game, great mechanics. 8. Krampus. 9. A homebrew Elemental Golem I whipped up. I had a good time running him, but it was a rough session. This monster was meant to be a serious challenge to the whole party, and it ended up only being two PCs vs. it: the rogue and the sorcerer. They didn't die 10. Gendo Bendo: This was the terrible name I came up with on the fly for a Aqualish smuggler my players were trying to capture and turn in for the bounty. He ended up convincing them not to turn him in (though I'm positive they intended to double cross him) and was with them for a good part of our campaign, alternately helping and hindering them. He was a grizzled tough and I had a great time RPing back at my guys. 11. My PCs having a fight with a Hydra. They were walking on water (thanks to the Cleric spell) exploring an undgerground river. When the hydra poped up, their back was to a waterfall plummeting into the unseeable depths. They had to stay within the confines of the spell, or get swept down into the dark. Good times. 12. I'm looking forward to more Hired Heroes episodes and hopefully making the time to sit in on one of the Patreon Hangouts. Hoping joatmoniac and I can reconnect for another DM-Nastics too!

1) Episode 24, Survivalist and Horror. I haven't really run or played in a horror themed campaign, but it's one of my favorite genres of fiction, and the guys brought some good meat to the table in discussing it.
2) Pantheon Builder DM-nastic. It's one of the best examples of collaborative creation on this forums, IMO.
3) Dragon turtle jousting.
4) It's not an RPG gift per se, but I got some painting supplies for my birthday. I used it to start painting my pewter minis, which have been plain for almost a year.
5) Pass on this one. I'm not a big movie guy, and the few movies I watched weren't inspiring for RPG purposes.
6) Improvisation is a skill, and it gets better the more you practice.
7) Started playing Shadowrun 5e in November. Just a few sessions in, but I love it!
8) Pass on this one. I keep real world holidays firmly out of my games.
9) An evil forest spirit that essentially used my Circle of the Plague druid archetype. With his variety of actions and lair actions, he presented the players with multiple kinds of threats which required teamwork to overcome.
10) Zilean, in my League of Legends-based D&D game.
11) Exploring the ruins of the Institute of War in the same game. It ended with a gigantic tentacle bursting out of the ground while they searched a basement area, and it "nearly" caused the roof to collapse on them. (Nearly in quotes, because it was mostly scripted)
12) Am I supposed to predict the future or something?

12) Am I supposed to predict the future or something? Of course you are. Like predicting how I would change the question after you mentioned this and I realized I had copied over the wrong version of them.

As I haven't played in 2015, I'm not sure now many of these I'm going to be able to answer, but I'll give it a go.
1) What was your favorite Episode from DMB in 2015? Ep. 28 RAAH Real Monsters 1; Beholders, Spiders & More [13th April 2015] (though I did also like Ep49: Commoner Cat-astrophe [19th October 2015]).
2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015? Every time I manage to get a DM-Nastic completed and the bookmarked list of links to them grows a little shorter every time.
3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015? Mitch telling about blowing the kegs of alcohol up to win the bet.
4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015? N/A
5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign? Wow, so of the four 2015 films that I've seen (The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Cinderella, Inside Out, and Fantastic Four) I'd have to say, Inside out. A split party, with a focus on the main two that don't get along, having to work together to find a way to get home with their valuable cargo; meeting interesting NPCs, Growing as characters, Gaining an understanding of the other party member, and over coming the problems in their way despite having the odds stacked against them. Not to mention the other half of the party messing **** up back home when the leader is not there to regulate them.
6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year? From JM Perkins talking about his party of Commoners working and planning together to take down something much larger than them. With enough planning and some good friends, you can achieve things you never thought possible.
7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015? N/A
8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game? The trials of having to deliver presents to a large population in a tight time limit, all without being seen (Mass Reverse Heist anyone?)
9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015? N/A
10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015? N/A
11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015? N/A
12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB? More world building tips, advise on playing to your alignment, and maybe advise on how to homebrew a good/balanced PC Race.

1) What was your favorite Episode from DMB in 2015? Episode 39: Creation & Inspiration IV featuring Morgan Jenkins. Lots of fantastic ideas in this one, plus Morgan's hypnotic accent. 2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015? Joining the forums and participating in my first DMnastics! It's been a lot of fun coming around for these excellent exercises, and I can't wait to work out my brain with even more! 3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015? One of my players barely escaping certain death (and other unnameable consequences) by trying to trick a magical librarian far stronger and more malevolent than he. He bought his friends some time, and only a clutch 20 saved him from turning into a corpse (kinda). 4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015? A small book stand for holding up my DMG, MM, and/or PHB when table space is limited. Also, tons of notebooks for writing out ideas. 5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign? Mad Max and Star Wars come to mind for obvious reasons, but how about Inside Out? Sometimes a small stakes adventure can be more meaningful than a large one, not to mention all the great NPCs or monsters that can come out of someone's mind. ( catcharlie - Great minds think alike) 6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year? "The greatest journey that can be taken is the journey taken together." Those were the final lines of my character in a 5-year long campaign that ended this week. Without everyone who made that campaign what it was, it wouldn't be nearly as memorable. That's what's great about life and about tabletop. 7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015? A homebrew Pokemon tabletop called FLC (for "Full Life Consequences" because Pokemon is serious business). The system still needs a lot of work, but it's what got me back into tabletop and keeps me close to my friends across the country. 8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game? Three kings wander the countryside to crown the next great king of the world, as foretold by the stars. It already sounds like a D&D campaign. 9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015? The Guardian of the Great Gaol, a homebrew monster made to guard the tomb of a once-sealed eldritch evil. My PCs are ridiculously powerful, so I tried to see how many stops I had to pull to challenge them (5 adventurers at level 6, 5e). Here's the stats, if you're interested: the Guardian and his Delivered. 10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015? Tie: Rorie MacBay, God of Atheists (a mad conspiracy theorist trying to figure out how to prove all the dutifully worshipping D&D NPCs wrong about their obviously extant Gods, of which he is one) or Roam's Mom (a PC's mother who sounds and acts like Brian's Mom from The Life of Brian). 11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015? The Kinshoal Library: a giant library with arcane book spirits, obsessive and angry shelf sorters (re-skinned Ropers), weird door puzzles, and terrifying librarian constructs from which the players had no choice but to run. 12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB? More Divine Spotlights, more great guests (like Rich Howard, Morgan Jenkins, and Lou Anders), and a story time where Neal DMs for Mitch and Chris (I want to see how our favorite DMs act together as players!)

1) What was your favorite Episode from DMB in 2015?
The survival and horror episode really inspired the post-apocalyptic campaign I'm now running.
2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015?
Guess I'm not one of the cool kids yet. ;-)
3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015?
My swashbuckler finally won the heart of the NPC she'd been worshiping from afar for almost 2 years in game...by waltzing into the tavern with a dragon's head instead of a bouquet of flowers.
4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015?
Said swashbuckler found a magical tome--I forget what it's called, but basically it provides information on any topic you're thinking about when you read it. However, she's convinced it's a journal detailing the history of her pirate ancestors, so it's true function is moot. The rest of the group just dies every time she opens it and fails to grasp its magical significance, but I adore the ridiculousness of the situation.
5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign?
Do video games count? I'm running a Fallout inspired post-apocalyptic fantasy campaign where the heroes started in the equivalent of the vault--on their communal birthday.
6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year?
Don't over plan. My first campaign fizzled out because I got frustrated doing all this global-historical scale world-building that didn't make it into the game. Now that I'm working a chapter/area at a time, the prep-work is more rewarding.
7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015?
My friend's homebrew world makes me happy.
8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game?
Santa Claus!
9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015?
I didn't run them, but my compatriots and I battled some deep dragons the other day. It was amazing. We almost died.
10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015?
A literally barefoot-and-pregnant cleric prevising over a cult of mutants worshiping an ancient, radiated magical artifact. Alternatively, one of the mutants in the cult who uttered the line (in a deep southern accent). "I'll help find yer friend, but you've gotta help me escape and git back my mama's guns." At which point the tinker gnome who is questing to recover lost firearms technology practically exploded.
11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015?
Falling into a bit trap, passing out, waking up, getting drunk, and getting rescued...then somehow making it through the rest of the dungeon (on 1 hp) only to die when I failed to disarm a trap on an EMPTY treasure chest. Got brought back to life by a beholder and saved Waterdeep from invasion...all in one night. Would you believe the Lords didn't even give us a parade?
12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB?
More head-canon stories from Chris. As a hero with expansive head-canon experiences, these stories almost make me smile.

1) What was your favorite Episode from DMB in 2015? Any of the top 10 episodes, those are always a laugh and full of good ideas! 2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015? umm I'm still sort of new here so im not sure ^^; 3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015? The epilogue for for the Riders of Shemish specifically finding the leader of the riders having built up the gang into a sizeable force. left me with a ton of questions about him -really kinda want a book series for him and the riders! 4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015?
Novels! i know im getting a few for Christmas but i got given 'The seal of KARGA KUL' by Alex Irvine, was an amazing book. 5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign?
Funnily enough Harry Potter, it inspired me to create a little more up to date campaign (more eberron level of tech than actual modern but still). The party were made to be the teachers in an 'Adventures Academy' that went real well 6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year?
Monkeys are in fact, evil. 7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015? Some Star Wars: Age of Rebellion and some Warhammer 40k Deathwatch both were great fun. 8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game?
Santa's workshop takeover!: ol' Claus is in a bind after dark forces overrun his workshop and with just 3 days until winter festivities he needs to get back on track and unfortunately for him your the only group of adventures he can find on such short notice! Break into the workshop, avoid its festive traps and fight demons, cultists and dark elves as you try to stop them from converting Christmas magic at its focus point at the centre of the workshop into dark energy to summon evil and hatred unmatched into the world. (special side quest -recover the naughty list) 9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015?
Vampire lord Ambexus, honestly not so much a monster but just a guy the party were convinced were up to no good and threw themselves at repeatedly over a few misadventures. He was amused at first and spared them, he didn't really want to hurt anyone and wanted to be left well alone (you don't ask to get turned into a monster) he even saved there bacon. twice. of course there is a limit to how long a guys patience can stretch and he eventually just killed on of the party outright and told them to leave and never return or he would turn them all and throw them out of a wagon in the middle of town at midday. (on a side note he was actually up to no good, but thats for another group) 10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015?
Jenkins-the butler. A magical silver try summons this companion for any house and estate for as long as the group remains together and signs his contract that magically binds them to certain rules about him (cannot attempt to harm him, cannot lock him in a freezer, etc), he was dry and proper and the all round British butler who chimed in on the adventures discussions having a good range of knowledge after serving many groups good and evil through the years. He ended up been a focal point of several pranks as they try to make him smile or laugh at all which i did allow at the end of the campaign after the group finds the items for the silver try restoring his family and having a household of magical servants. 11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015?
The ghost ship. The players had boarded the odd vessel in an attempt to stop pirates, they had been convinced that it was just some ploy but when the ship turned spectral along with them and began to float off things got awkward - they had to explore the vessel fighting ghosts and slimes and when they finally slew the captain they found themselves in the Shadowfel with a ghost ship they had no idea how to sail or use, on the dead sea by a city full of dead souls and worst of all...all the ale kegs in the hold were empty! 12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB?more episodes!

2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015? 2A: I'm going with Nevurr on this one. The Pantheon Building DMnastics was probably the best example of the forums forming an amazing pantheon.
3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015? 3A: My Own: When the world almost literally blew up in the players faces (thanks to KJmagle, DMC, Kiado, Joat, Friar, and Whipstache! Merry Christmas!) DMB's: the "Crowning" of the Phoenix King... It leaves all of us wondering, How did it Happen?
4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015? 4A: Simple, the Player's Handbook.
5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign? 5A: Maze Runner. Not one of my favorite films, but there are a lot of things that would be fun to play out in a campaign.
6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year? 6A:
7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015? 7A: Starslayers. A Hack & Slash RPG. And Some Star Wars as well... Which reminds me...

9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015? 9A: This may be 2014, but J loved using Mainprizes Monsters for my very first campaign it made the day.
10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015? 10A: Thomas A. Pinkerton III. A pompous fool in his own right.
11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015? A group of players chased down a shadow creature into a Temple. In that very small dungeon, a player got his hand shot off, replaced his hand with a Mage hand and the group started time jumping. A lot of fun.
12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB? 12A: More Zombie Sheep at the very least...

1) What was your favourite Episode from DMB in 2015?
After much deliberation, it had to be the Creation and Inspiration V (both parts 1 and 2), ie episodes 52 and 53. Though I haven't read anything by Lou, the insight to how he creates his world was incredibly useful. Further, he equiped me with two tools that I simply don't understand how I got this far without using, the first; I've gotten so much mileage out of the ever-changing book of names and fractal terrains. The Dmnastics on both of these seal the deal, that labyrinth…
2) What was your favourite-off the air DMB moment in 2015?
I haven't had many of these, but my introduction to this forum has to count.
3) What was your favourite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015?
From my own campaigns; the look on my players faces when I revealed that a former PC was the psychopath committing horrible acts of murder and sabotage. This was after a roller-coaster ride over several sessions of whether or not this character was evil. My favourite part about this is my party still don't know and still want to know whether he was evil all along….
From your campaigns though, my favourite would have to be the dragon turtle joust.
4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015?
For my, the coolest thing I received was some artwork by one of my players.
5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign?
I'm not really a fan of movies, and haven't seen any this year (yet, I'll get around to the new star wars soon enough), so N/A.
6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year?
If you give your players a 4-D dungeon with associated rotation and time-dilation problems, your players will not speak to you for a week.
7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015?
Finished running a Black Crusade campaign, and have also started an Edge of an Empire campaign, which is pretty fun.
8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game?
I've considered running a one-shot campaign based on "A Christmas Story"
9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015?
I'm having trouble deciding between an actual deity and a DMPC that I made to ensure order in my "Munchkin out as much as you want"
10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015?
The afore mentioned DMPC, and a down to earth emperor who throwed down against a soul knife performing a 'Traditional Xeph Tumbling Dance.
11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015?
The afore mentioned 4-D dungeon.
12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB?
I'm very much interested in the new format, and I can't wait to see what exiting new guests you'll have on.

1) What was your favorite Episode from DMB in 2015? The episodes with Lou Anders, by far. It inspired me so much and even made me buy Frostborn as a Christmas gift for a few people haha.
2) What was your favorite-off the air DMB moment in 2015? Definitely meeting DM Mitch and DM Chris at AcadeCon and playing in DM Chris's game there at the heroes table. You guys are so awesome and that was game was SO fun.
3) What was your favorite moment out of our campaign, or your, adventures in 2015? AcadeCon, again. Playing with the DMs Mitch and Chris was awesome, but I also got to meet and play with Rich Baker in his new Primeval Thule setting (which is incredible and I can't wait to run a game in). Rich did a lot of work designing third edition and I learned was directly responsible for iconic things we know and love now like the Barbarian's rage ability, the Paladin's divine smite ability, and the existence of the Sorcerer class. It was such an honor to meet him, he's a grandmaster DM, and playing in Primeval Thule with him was an absolute blast.
4) What was the coolest D&D item (in or out of game) you received during 2015? My small but ever-growing collection of D&D minis, which was virtually nonexistant until this year as I started stockpiling for the life of DMing I have ahead of me.
5) What 2015 Movie most is the greatest inspiration for a D&D Campaign? I won't say much about it because I don't want to spoil anything but the new Star Wars has really inspired me to want to run a space opera style game (not necessarily set in space) even more than I wanted to before.
6) What was the greatest lesson from RPGs that you learned over the past year? Having fun is more important than getting it right or as the RPG Academy says "if you're having fun, you're doing it right"; and while game prep isn't necessarily everything, a lack of it can easily become everything (I ran my first con game and I was woefully unprepared and nervous and while the players said they had fun it could have been so much better if I'd done some more prep)
7) What other great RPGs did you play in 2015? Cold Steel Wardens, Dungeon World, Gamma World, All Outta Bubblegum, the Tearable RPG (from Jim McClure, check it out for free!), and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire/Force and Destiny
8) What Classic Christmas Story/Element would you like to see in a D&D game? The materialism fueled mad dash for a coveted toy ala the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic Jingle All The Way
9) What was your favorite monster that you got to run in 2015? I had a lot of fun turning our party's rogue to stone when he crit-failed his stealth check and subsequent saving throws against a basilisk.
10) What was your favorite NPC that you got to run in 2015? My party's adventuring patron, the eccentric art collector Donnal Therin. He's obscenely wealthy with a touch of madness.
11) What was your favorite dungeon experience of 2015? Again, the dungeon we ran through at AcadeCon with DM Chris. Honestly guys, if you can at all swing it you should go to AcadeCon. It was amazing.
12) What are you looking forward to the most in 2016 from the DMB? I'm hoping to get in on some Patreon Google Hangouts eventually, I can't wait to see what guests are on, more Hired Heroes, and I'm excited for more content in the form of separate episodes for DMNastics and Story Time.
