I'm wondering if anyone here plays or GMs any other tabletop RPGs.
As I mentioned on another thread, I used to play a lot of Palladium games. For those unfamiliar, Palladium was a company that put out a series of games, each taking place in a different genre or universe, but having a core rule set in common. If I remember correctly is was a d20 system with a lot of customization similar to 3.5 D&D. There was a fantasy setting (which I never played, I had D&D for that), Rifts (mentioned in another thread, future sci-fi earth, magic activated), Ninjas and Superspies (self explanatory), and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book (mutant animals, martial arts).
I played a little bit of Shadowrun, but I really shouldn't claim to have "played" it. I read the rules and thought the world of Shadowrun was cool, but never had a group for it.
I have the books for Numenera, from Monte Cooke games, but haven't had time to read through them. The system and world look really cool; the system is being touted at revolutionary by the accounts I've read online.
So, what other games are interesting to you guys?

We will be playing and reviewing "Everyone is John" in an upcoming episode. The game seems great. Best part....all you need is some d6s and the free PDF from online! Check it out!

I have never played another TTRPG, have friends who have played Pathfinder, Star Wars RPG and Super hero RPGs. I just backed Sol, a TTRPG Kickstarter and eagerly await the PDF of the core rules. So when I get that I will post about it.

I'm strongly considering 13th Age. Mitch and Chris brought it up several times in the podcast, but I only recently bought the PDF. Not sure yet that I want to run it, but it's got some sweet ideas that I'll use at my D&D table, if I don't find a new group or convert my current one. I can't believe you brought up the TNMT RPG. My AD&D 2e DM decided to run that for a one off session back in the 90's, just for kicks. He had us randomly determine which animal mutation we were. I got the mighty armadillo.

I can't believe you brought up the TNMT RPG. I was a card carrying member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Fanclub. That book is the one that introduced me to the whole Palladium system.

Oh, just thought I'd add... I brought up Darkurthe LEGENDS in the awesome stories subforum. It's essentially an AD&D 2e clone, but it was the first game I ever GM'd. The thing which I was really enamored with in this game was the magic system. I think Ars Magicka predated the concept, but I hadn't heard of that game at this point.
Anyway, the basic idea was you had a list of a hundred or so generic spell effects with a base difficulty of casting. Then you chose the range, duration, targets/area, etc. and this increased the difficulty. So for example you could choose the generic effect Energy Creation - High Intensity, Fire. Then give it a range of 100 feet, a duration of instant, area of 30 feet, and there's your classic fireball.
Also, the setting included in the book served as the inspiration for my own world. The two are unrecognizable from one another after extensive modification, but some traces remain. The game has long been out of print, just one of many casualties during that D&D clone glut of the 90's, but I'll always have fond memories of playing and GMing that system.

I have dabbled in a little of this, that and the other over the years. I enjoyed the old version of the Star Wars RPG for a wonderful campaign with a Wookie who had a Kowakian Monkey Lizard as a pet. As mentioned in my about post, I have played a bit of Pathfinder and 2e through 5e D&D. I have also played some of the Warhammer 40K RPG - Dark Heresy. As a lover of all things TMNT (watched the 1980s series, 2000s series, and rewatched/caught up on the new series within the past few months) Also, built this today www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant-Turtles-Papercraft-Playset/dp/B00HFKU120 haha. All that to say I am very sad to not have played a TMNT game, but will probably force someone into running one for me, haha.

I have also played some of the Warhammer 40K RPG - Dark Heresy. How are the Warhammer 40k RPG's? I have never played them, but almost purchased Deathwatch. The only reason I didn't is because I felt D&D had better "storytelling" options.

They are good, but being completely over the top characters (i.e. space marines) isn't really an option, and you have the very real chance of dying. I would also agree with the idea of D&D having more storytelling options, as it has had decades more time to develop as an RPG. It was still pretty fun as someone who has played a decent amount of the miniatures game. It is based on a d10/percentage system that is pretty straightforward.

The most obvious one that comes to mind for me that I have played is Pathfinder, however, it is extremely similar to DnD so I won't focus on it. Another RPG I have played, is star wars d20 but other people have mentioned it so I will once again choose to move on. Joatmoniac mentioned playing the warhammer 40k- Dark Heresy RPG which I have never played. I have however, played Rogue Trader. I'm not sure what the differences are but Rogue Trader is a great Sci-Fi RPG for someone wanting to try out the genre or for people who like the lore of Warhammer. It does use the d10 system as joatmoniac noted Dark Heresy uses. I have not played it for a little while but would definitely recommend it. The core rulebooks explanation of character creation is a bit confusing but I found an excel document you can download that does everything for you. Link: www.blackmoor.org.uk/40K.htmlIf you only have the core rulebook make sure you change the setting that says which rulesets you are using. Also, note that I have only played in this system so I don't know what it is like as far as the DM(or in this case I guess it's technically GM) is concerned.

These Warhammer 40K RPGs really interest me. I've been looking at Deathwatch or Only War for some time, but I still need the DMG for Dungeons and Dragon. What is RogueTrader like?

Well it seems to work well for a variety of things. However, it specializes in crew based ship campaigns. The crews act as interstellar explorers and traders. On the wikipedia article it is described as: "In Rogue Trader, players take the role of a Rogue Trader and his or her crew as they operate outside the stellar and legal boundaries of the Imperium. The book provides, among other things, rules for interplanetary commerce and spaceship operation, travel, combat, and customization." There is also a list of career paths(classes) on the wiki here is the link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_Trader_(role-playing_game)

That is a pretty awesome game, though I would probably want to play it rather then GM it. I always love playing political games and this game seems to offer a lot of situations where that would be used.

It does. I really enjoyed it when I played. I'm not sure what to tell you on the GM front, ask your players if one of them wants to give it a go. You'd be surprised how many people have wanted to DM or GM before but never asked because they didn't think there would be an opportunity.
