So one of the homebrew creatures we've created (My father and I) are called Tidbits.
So Tidbits are genetically altered bats, with gauntly elongated bodies and large sunken black eyes. These tidbits have jaws that can unhinge and allow them to bite larger animals. The inside of their mouth is lined with numerous tiny needle like teeth which they inject their victims with a toxin that incapacitates them (for 1d10 minutes). I basically just take the bat stats from the MM and increase the HP some (due to their larger size). They tend to collect shiny objects which they then give to the matron in order to impress her.
The 'Mothers' are grotesque and obese, since the females command the males and often eat more. Each 'Mother' can telepathically communicate with one another over large distances. Each 'Mother' answers to a 'Queen'. These creatures are very mischievous since they often go after shiny objects like jewelry, coins, gems, and other things.
These creatures were created by an antagonist which we designed. A male drow lich bent on creating a superior race of creatures which he can manipulate into doing whatever his needs are. Tidbits are NOT the only creature he has created.
Now my question: What would be a reasonable DC for the save against the toxin. I can always revamp it if they come across stronger ones, but I am having a rough time figuring out a GOOD reasonable BASE SAVE. I am thinking something like a DC of 12 or 14 for the 1-5 level range, then increasing it from there. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
