One of my players would really like to play the 5e UA Protection Domain for Clerics. Unfortunately, it seems to be a bit underpowered so I wanted to beef it up a tiny bit without unbalancing the class too much.
Here's the two changes I'd like to make. What do you think?
1. Domain Spells:
-Swap Protect from Good &Evil for Shield of Faith. -Swap Protect from Poison for Warding Bond.
These are just to make the spells fit the 'theme' better.
2. Change Radiant Defense.
It just seems very underpowered compared to a similar spell like Hellish Rebuke. I'd like to change it so it becomes: Use an action to cast Radiant Armour on 1 ally within 30ft (Lasts 1 min.) They gain a 2d8+Cleric level hp shield that returns any melee damage done to them until used up. When an ally under the shield takes damage, the shield causes the same damage back in radiant damage, using up it's own hp to do so. The shield disperses when it reaches 0hp. Scales with level...
I just feel a longer lasting shield that makes enemies think twice about going in for a second hit and off-sets the loss of some of the cleric's attacking power.
Thoughts?

I think the domain spell swaps are just fine if that's the route you want to go.
As for changing Radiant Defense - I don't see the change, it seems like a rather potent 2nd level ability as it is. 2d10+2 damage (no save) is deadly to most enemies one might be facing 2nd level on its own. If you want to add in the protection to the target in addition to the "reflect" aspect, I'd suggest going even lower than taking the 2d10 to 2d8... 2d6 or 3d4 maybe.
Your suggestion isn't going to break the game, but clerics usually don't need a power boost to stay competitive and IMHO you've taken a fairly potent ability and boosted it's effect. Just my 2 cents, implementing as is, though would play out fine I think too.
