Hello everyone! I'm creating a home-brew world and I need some help. Here is some info. The world itself is made up of 7 known continents. Arknöre (home of the Dwarves) Broenox (island of monsters band entrance to the underdark.) Ceroval (home of the Gnomes) Drakelon (home of the Dragons and Dragonborn) Ebonbrooke (home of the halflings) Farrindale (home of the elves) and Gerosil (which is the place were everyone lives.) I need some help with lore. Can anyone help me?

I think the most important question to consider is why the races are separated on every continent except Gerosil. Is that placement part of an ancient pact to preserve the culture of the race's homelands while still allowing them to intermingle? Also, is it allowed for a member of one race to travel to another's homeland continent?

For lore, I think you should take from legends, myths, and histories of the Ancient World and the Medieval World from all over. The dwarves could be influenced by the Norse. The gnomes could be influenced by fairy tales. The dragons and dragonborn could be influenced by Medieval Europe. The halflings could be influenced by the First Nations and Native American peoples. The elves could be influenced by the Arabs. And finally the continent where everyone lives could have three to four kingdoms, where inspiration is taken from China, Japan, Mesoamerica, Africa, and the Celts.
I also recommend you create at least one constructed language for your world (unless you have already), as that helps define culture. If you don't create a language, make sure to think about the spellings of the words - after all, the world you create isn't going to somehow magically be speaking English or whatever your native tongue is unless there's some reason behind it like space travel of large amounts of people. Because of this, as I mentioned before, spellings should be regularized, because when you romanize a language's writing system, the spellings should make sense. I have a list of letters you should not include in names of the world unless they're pronounced differently than the way we pronounce them in English.
Q, X, C, RR, TT, YY, EE, UU, II, OO, AA, SS, DD, GG, JJ, KK, LL, ZZ, XX, VV, NN, and basically any double or triple lettering of a letter. No accents as well unless they are pronounced differently. And don't use apostrophes or hyphens in names unless they mean something. It doesn't really matter if the world looks cool or not, it matters if the word makes sense. Even if you make the names sound weird and nasty, they usually sound interesting in the end. Look at M.A.R. Barker's Tékumel, the names sound weird and strange, but they sound very interesting (he also created languages for his world).
For the names you made, I'd change them like so:
Arknöre: Arknore Breonox: Breonoks Ceroval: Seroval/Keroval/ or even Tseroval (c in many European languages is pronounced "ts") Drakelon: Drakelon Ebonbrooke: Ebonbrooke (this is okay because "brooke" means something in our language, so therefore in the language of the world, they'd just have a different name for brooke) Farrindale: Farindale (dale is okay for the same reason as brooke is above) Gerosil: Gerosil

Love the setting idea though overall.

Here's what I have so far.
World History Many years ago, the plane of existence was empty. Then, with a mighty explosion, the world sprang forth. The gods began to create everything. Pelor made the sun, Selûne made the moon, and Moradin forged the earth. As the world began to form, Gond created the lands, Umberlee created the seas, and Talos created the skies. At this time, there was no life, so Silvanus made the animals, and Lathander created the first elves. These creatures were like animals and had no emotion, so Sune gave them true life. They gained love, law, courage, joy, intellect, and wisdom. The world was calm and the elves worshiped the gods, but evil began to grow. After a hundred years of light, a young boy found a cave. As he walked in, he heard a voice. “Child, come closer.” As the young elf walked in further, he found a black crystal. The voice repeated “Come closer.” When the boy touched the crystal, his mind was flooded with images of terror, sadness, death, darkness, lies, evil, war, disease, and destruction. He collapsed to the ground in sheer pain. The crystal said to him “These visions are of the future. The world will be in ruins. There is one way to stop it. Free me from my prison child, and we shall conquer this evil.” The child stood up with dead eyes. He walked over to the crystal again. He picked up a large rock and smashed the crystal, freeing the darkness inside. Out of the crystal came Cyric, god of lies, who grabbed the child by the collar. “Ah, it’s so good to be back. Well, I guess I should reward you.” He released a dark magic from his mouth, giving the boy dark grey skin, white hair, and glowing red eyes. Cyric possessed the poor child, and he became the first drow. He emerged from the cave and felt the darkness grow. The sky turned black, and he began to conquer. He gathered followers from different planes of existence. Creatures such as orcs, goblins, ogres, and a host of other monsters to take over the world. He was full of rage at the gods. He first destroyed every temple to every god, and then stormed the castle of Eladrin, the first elven king. Eladrin was the first elf to have been created, and the only one who could use magic. He wielded the power of every god as the first paladin. He led the great battle against Cyric, driving his forces back. At the final battle, the two were in a great battle. Eladrin, with Ilpherkiil, the spear of destiny, and Cyric, with Broenox, his axe of destruction. The two fought for a long time, wearing each other out. Eventually, Eladrin realized what he had to do. He threw his spear into the ground, fell to his knees, and prayed. The spear began to glow. As Cyric brought his axe down on the elf’s neck, he began to glow. He grabbed the axe by the blade, and crushed it with one hand. He grabbed Cyric, holding him in place as he yelled out “Now Ilpherkiil!” The spear rose from the ground by itself, and pierced the two warriors. Eladrin had sacrificed himself for the world. They both began to turn into energy. Eladrin became a white energy as his soul went to Feywild, while Cyric turned dark purple as he went to Shadowfell. Cyric vowed he would return to destroy the world. As they both disappeared, as did their weapons. The darkness disappeared, but it’s influence remained. There was still darkness, but it was overwhelmed by the light. The people began to explore the world they lived on, and the named it Atalon. Some elves remained on the first continent, and named it Ferrindale. Others went to other continents, and founded the lands of Arknöre, Ceroval, Ebonbrooke, and Gerosil. They also found a separate island with strange creatures. They were dragons. There were also strange humanoid creatures with scales and claws. These people were dragonborn, and they were guardians of the world placed there by Bahamut, the great dragon that lives on the tallest mountain, Mount Hepinfuku. The elves began to adapt to their new lands. The elves on Arknöre became dwarves, the elves on Ceroval became gnomes, the elves on Ebonbrooke became halflings, and the elves on Gerosil became humans. Many years past as the races lost contact with each other, and mostly stayed on their respective islands. But in the second age, a human named Azure Shemesh discovered another island. On this island, evil flourished. This island was full of monsters from the first war. They had survived. Azure barely escaped with his life. He called this island Broenox after the weapon of Cyric. After a while, the races realized that this could be a problem, so they formed an alliance with each other in which they would band together to solve the worlds problems. They opened their borders to other races.

Did the races develop in their own lands and then discover each other? Or were they scattered/pushed/emigrated from somewhere else?
I'm assuming you have humans scattered everywhere? Or are humans only in Gerosil?
If there are humans everywhere, then how do the other races think of them? Have they always been around or is this a recent wave of migration? Do they have a homeland? If not what happened?
If humans are only in Gerosil, then why are human lands so desegregated compared to the other continents?
