He is very much real in a way many other super heros can never because they are the stuff of make believe. This expresses much of what I like about The Punisher. He has a similar background and motive to Batman; he has a code, much like Batman. But he is more human, more relatable. Both suffered a great loss, both act by a personal code, both work well outside the law. But where Batman uses the immense wealth and the resources of his "secret identity", Frank just goes underground. Where Batman has decided to place limits on himself in regard to how much "human collateral" he is willing to expend, Frank has chosen to permanently end the criminal careers of his chosen targets (that is: kill 'em). I feel Punisher is a more real character. While Batman is the original anti-hero, The Punisher is more realistic anti-hero.

I don't usually see the use with hero and anti-hero distinctions. Then again I am born and bred by Lord of the Rings, so I prefer an almost ridiculously strong distinction between good and evil. I'm cliched, I like the ultimately heroic hero versus an ultimately evil evil.

anyway wish Thomas Jane was still the punisher. Did you ever see this? Jane financed it himself IIRC. youtu.be/bWpK0wsnitc

But why? He has big guns? Probably not the only thing since there are lots of characters out there with big guns. Why is Frank a compelling character for you? For me, it's his story. I'm not going to make the Batman comparison, because they're apples and oranges to me. You're right, it's not just "the guns", although that is a huge factor. I like the evolution he's undergone. From his inaugural issue of Spider-Man, where he was simply a hired assassin, to finding his own way. I loved his Vietnam/Marine Corps ties and stories. The vigilante angle is very much in play, because we all love the guys that do what's right, even if it's beyond the law. Batman is more like Daredevil, than the Punisher. Frank doesn't care about legal/illegal. He sees a wrong, and takes care of it. Forget jurisprudence. There's something in all of us, whether we admit it or not, that likes that to an extent. The Punisher taps into that, and allows us to live vicariously through him.

Rumor is that with Daredevil's success, The Punisher may be in the works next! WOO HOO!! It must be Thomas Jane, IMHO. The movie sucked balls with the changes they made, but Jane is an avid Frank-Fan, and I know his chops can be up to the task. www.vigilantist.com/?p=148

Midnight showing? Last one I did was for the Hobbit. Went 6 for 6 on midnight showings for LotR movies. For Age of Ultron I haven't been hearing the greatest of reviews, but it does sound like a visual/action masterpiece just lacks some story. Granted how you have solid story for that many characters in under three hours, which I hear was pre-cut runtime, is beyond me. However I feel like the Avengers movies are the high tide that raises all ships. While Thor one wasn't the greatest of films it seems a lot better once the Avengers came out and reaching it is more fun. I'm hoping that is my feelings once again, and I believe that we will be doing some "team building" at work on Friday, haha.

I saw age of ultron yesterday. I had only seen the first trailer so let me say I was so so so amazed and impressed with everything they managed to pull of with that movie. I will leave this post spoiler free but if you watched the trailers you probably have seen half the movie. So so epic. I will be seeing it again asap.

Is that good? I was/am deeply skeptical of it, because of marvel contest of champions. That was NOT a fighting game. How is Future Fight comparatively?

So right away it is dropped in the bar. After that is is a grinding level, earn coins, upgrade weapons and skills game. One real bonus is if you 3 star a level you can play on it again but "auto" mode. So if you are like me and want to level up a hero but want to do something else on a different device you can use this feature. It is free, worth a try, and you do not have to pay anything. I seen where people just load the game already purchased a $20. I just smh and grind.

They were my favorite up until I played Half-Life 2 and fell in love with story-based games. (This in turn broke down into a love for DMing and RP). I might give that a try...
