Ok, so all the awesome mini painting finally drew me away from card craft and into a bit of painting. I started with a large troll (simple detail & bigger size) as the first, then moved on to a Minotaur (more detail, smaller size). I've since done a few mimics and chests and I'm going to finally take a stab at my Heroforge character (scared!!).
I've been trying to link a picture here but failing miserably. I'll try again later today. (<= net noob)

I need to watch some videos on technique but I love painting them - it's very relaxing. I won't be able to do any more though until post-FanCon. I have a giant foam axe to make XD

Here's my latest mini. My aasimar cleric, Seraphina. I'm so happy with how it turned out since I was adapting a sorcerer mini. Attachments:

I really like that one!! This is the mini I will be using for a game soon. Probably going to add some more, but nice so far. Needs some snow! Haha.

Here's a picture of my resin-printed lizardfolk, designed and sculpted in Zbrush and printed on a Formlabs Form 2 at 50 micron layers. Post-work to follow:

Hey! Loving the new posts and minis painting that is happening!! Chickadee (DM Trish) your paints look great! I'm so glad you love it. It opens up so much fantastic possibility in your games when you discover you can and love painting minis. Keep watching tuorials. I found season 1 of Painter's Guild with Will Friedle and the YouTube posted Games Workshop Citadel paints tutorials to be the most helpful for upping my game. joatmoniac that dwarf is amazing and cold hardy! Dwarves are the best. The game I run is all dwarf about dwarf things and I'm loving it. Your paint job has that smoothness I haven't got the hang of yet. It's my next skill to tackle! On to the show and tell. I recently took stock of all the hero forge minis I have painted. I absolutely love painting these. If anyone has tackled only Reaper, Nolzure's, Pathfinder, etc so far and is scared to risk painting a $30 hero forge, don't be afraid! Go for it- I found them way easier. The print quality and added boon of 30mm compared to Nolzure's/Reaper/Pathfinder's 28mm unpainted minis just makes them easier to paint. I have the front picture of my painted Hero Forge PCs attached here and will follow-up with a couple more posts of pics due to size limit. Thanks everyone for the continued inspiration and support! The backs of the attachments in the previous post. Not sure if you can see it this small, but if you look at the back of pink-haired half-orc she has a unicorn detail on the back of her tabbard. I did NOT paint that- way too tiny. Instead I found that I can print out tiny images of embellishments my players want, print them out, and then glue them to the mini. You have to be careful and use very little of a relatively dry glue or paint to stick the paper on (I use citadel 'ardcoat or sometimes super glue to stick mine on) so that the printed ink doesn't run too bad, but it works pretty well!
