Mordoc, a mentor, master thief, and famed escape artist made a wish that on his death, his soul be divided into five clever magic items. Each item to be gifted to his five faithful students.
Mordoc's enchanted ball of twine, if not attuned to someone, appears to be a mundane, golf ball sized wad of thread, yarn, and lint. When attuned, it weaves itself into the user's clothes. When not actively being used, the item is undetectable without a detect magic spell.
On mental command, 'mebot' can send out to 5' a tendril to perform light manipulative tasks like picking locks, untying ropes, disarming traps, picking pocket, etc. It has a lifting strength of two lbs and tensile strength of ten lbs.
Infused with part of Mordoc's soul, it carries a fraction of his skill and mischievous personality as well. It gives a +3 bonus on attempts to pick locks, detect and disarm traps, and sleight of hand. Unfortunately, Mordoc was a bit of a womanizer too. Unbeknownst to the wearer 'mebot' may occasionally goose an attractive young woman and get its host into occasional trouble.
