So I'm kicking around this idea for an underwater campaign. The rich Howard episodes were just so dang good. That guy loves what he does, and he had so many good ideas, and it really inspired me.
So the title will be Kraken Fall. The concept is much like whale fall in our ocean. When a whale dies far from shore, it sinks to the bottom and becomes a buffet for all manner of creatures. Now imagine a gigantic Kraken that dies for a reason to be determined. Leaving behind a hoard of Treasure, magic items and all types of loot you'd expect the Tarrasque of the sea to be worrying over. Now imagine all the movers and shakers of the underwater regions racing to lay claim to this.
Alright so some.... Specifics?
The plan would be that your players represent one of the kingdoms. A mixed, united, kingdom of diversity and inclusion. Kind of vanilla, but I don't want to railroad my group into one race. Otherwise, it's a "birds of a feather" or "fish of the same scale" mentality in the sea. You MAY try to persuade one of your players to take the noble background to facilitate the story on the thematic front. Maybe dealing with nobles also on the same mission. You are tasked with establishing a foot hold on the hoard, keeping away rivals, and await the caravan of pack whales and reinforcements to collect everything.
This is where I'm looking for help. I have some great ideas for the pressure difference, terrain, potions (solved it by making it a solid paste), and some monsters. Just looking for ideas on some fun things to do and see for them on the way.
I'm excited for this and would appreciate feedback and feel more then free to use this idea on your own campaign. Thanks in advance.
