Homebrew monster I'm planning on throwing at my players as they try to enter an old dwarven city. Inspiration from www.reddit.com/user/Dustfinger_ 's Totem Golem and the Omnotron defense system from WoW T11 raid. Actuall CR is more like 6,5 in each defense matrix, however if the party has magical weapons it's more like CR4,5 since EHP get's lowered.

Great work Ahrek. Very solid and interesting creature. It actually works really well with a temple/dungeon I am creating right now. I do have a somewhat of a side question though. It looks like you use Homebrewery to create the monster stat block. If you do, how do you just get the single bit of the stat block saved as a pic instead of an entire page? If you don't use Homebrewery, what do you use?

I love this! It puts my Blizzard fanboy mode into high gear. Original motivation for Dustfinger is the Hearthstone card, and then you were further motivated by a T11 raid. That was back when I was still running a guild, aka before marriage and children, haha. Love the concept, and part of me would think about taking it even further down the road of mimicing Omnitron Defense System. You could have a recharge of an ability to switch to a different golem, and the others would become invulnerable. You could potentially use a shared health pool between them to mimic a raid boss style set up. The third part that interests me the most would be having more than one golem activate as the health was being reduced, as most fights in D&D and tabletop in general become easier as they go on because the number of enemies is reduced, and this fight could potentially flip that on its head. Like lasersniper I'm super interested in knowing how you linked just that stat block, and not the entire page. It definitely looks to be Homebrewery with its style, but who knows what endless tolls there are these days! If it is Homebrewery we should totally tag in the amazing ibplunderin to see if they have any sage advice. Another option that I found for just stat block would be www.critterdb.com/#/index but it is a slightly different style that the stat block that Ahrek posted. Again, I love this monster, and can't wait to hear about how it goes for you.

I use the D&D Monster Maker from thegeniusinc.com/dd-monster-maker-download/It's simple to use and puts everything right where it should be to make it look official. It also has an "Add SRD content" so you don't have to type out everything if you are modifying a monster or making one that is close to another (like a golem). I was thinking about making it just like the Omnotron and have it switch between golems but since this isn't meant to be a "boss" but rather a defense system put into a sort of "sally port/escape route" of the dwarven city it felt too much for this. Instead they will just have to fight some reskinned animated armor (stone statues) as well to make the action economy more even.
