We are back to having episodes! It's crit fumble time! Simply put, I think we should build out a crit fumble chart, and who knows maybe it will be strong enough over time to be official like a referee with a whistle for DMB/BPPN stuff. Can't promise that, but also can't say it wouldn't happen.
Step 1: Relay a time that a crit fumble was the stuff of legends. The other option is a time that failure was made fun, or fail forward happened. Anything along those lines.
Step 2: Submit an item for a crit fumble chart! Take your pick how severe or mild you want to fall on the scale. The assumption is that once a 1 is rolled the players would roll a percentile roll to see what happens next. Starting at 1 it gets more severe until it gets to 100.
Roll ranges to fill out:
1-12: Right Side Down {Your weapon is knocked from your hands but you catch it! However you catch the pointy end -1 hp} - lasersniper
13-24: {Name} {Description}
25-31: {Name} {Description}
32-37: Losing My Grip {You wind up to attack, and lose your grip on your weapon on the backward swing. It flies 1d4 x 10 feet behind you. Any allies in the square where it lands must make a DEX save or take the weapon's damage minus any bonuses.} - gholkan
38-44: Ants in your Pants: while positioning your feet you accidentally step on an ant hill, the insects immediately respond by climbing up your legs. Treat the ants as a swarm with an AC of 10 and HP of 5 (1d4 + 3), the ants deal 1 piercing damage to you each round and take their turn after you in the initiative order. Attacks against the ants have disadvantage if you are wearing armor and severe disadvantage (roll 3 dice) if you are wearing heavy armor. - lemiel14n3
45-49: Reckless Stumble {Your attack misses and knocks you off balance, causing you to stumble 5 feet in a random direction (DM's choice). This movement provokes attacks of opportunity.} - sorryjzargo
50-54: {Name} {Description}
55-59: Friendly Fire = On - Hit nearest ally for double damage. - Joatmoniac
60-63: {Name} {Description}
64-67: {Name} {Description}
68-71: Oh My!: your action becomes unintentionally but unmistakably sexual. Roll a Charisma saving throw to see how well received it is. - lemiel14n3
72-74: {Name} {Description}
75-77: {Name} {Description}
78-80: {Name} {Description}
81: Arcane Misfire {If your character possesses no unspent spell slots, your attack misses. If your character has one or more spell slots, you expend your lowest-level spell slot in a desperate attempt to correct your attack trajectory. Treat this attack as if you had rolled a 2 instead of a 1.} - sorryjzargo
